Eight of Swords upright is someone we all know, or maybe have even been at one point in our lives. The person who always wonders why these things always happen to them or are convinced that things will never work out because they never have before. In layman's terms this is a victim mentality, in psychologists terms its learned dependency. Either way, it's a hindering, and ultimately destructive, tendency to absolve one's self of personal responsibility for what they can control - which is themselves and their actions - and place the blame on what they can't control. Other people, God, the universe, it really depends on the person. When you consider that we, by and large, are emotion based creatures, and that fear is powerful and suggestive, it's easy to understand how handing over our agency to things seen or unseen can become your baseline, your normal way of being. Why is yours to figure out. Living your life based on your fears is a waste of your time, and I mean that quite literally. I believe we are never given more than we can handle, and if you handled everything else that's come your way, you can face your fears and move past them. Try to remember that you're stronger than your fears have led you to believe.
Reversed, you faced your fears, accepted that you are the only thing you have control over, and now you have the mental fortitude to show for it. This is not an easy task for anyone. It requires not only accepting others for the people they are but accepting yourself for the person you are. Its a kind of freedom to realize that you are enough, just as you are. And that freedom will lead to more and better in your life, which is something we all deserve.
Anyways, thanks for reading and let me know what you think in the comments. Bye!
